Here at My Hidden China we understand that sometimes you need to sacrifice a private hotel room or a chartered car in order to make your holiday affordable.
A budget tour will take you around China on a shoestring, by eating at local restaurants, staying in hostels and catching trains rather than flying. This doesn’t mean accommodation will be dirty or that you will miss out on any great experiences, but do expect to spend a little more time waiting in queues.

We work with you to create a personalised itinerary that suits your needs but here is where a Budget Tour might take you:
Starting off with three nights in Beijing, you’ll visit the Forbidden City, eat your fill of dumplings and take part in seasonal activities such as ice skating on Hou Hai Lake. Beijing has a thriving nightlife which can be explored with or without your guide.
Next take the high-speed train to Xi’an, home of the Terracotta Warriors for a 2 night stay. Ride tandem bikes around the Ancient city walls and eat your way from one end of the Muslim food street to the other. Climb to the top of the Little Wild Goose Pagoda for a panoramic view of the city.An overnight train to Chengdu and then a transfer to a local 1 hr train to EmeiShan. Two days hiking in beautiful Chinese mountains spending the nights in local monasteries before returning to Chengdu to fly home.
Don’t forget to add a Wish-list destination to you itinerary for a 10% discount on your overall tour price!
